International flights and internal Indian flights are NOT included in the price as most of our clients who are interested in short Rajasthan tours have a wider India itinerary. Flights can be arranged upon request.

Day one

On day one you arrive in Delhi and we'll be at Indira Ghandi International Airport to meet you. After a quick stop to freshen up, we'll start on the drive to Jaipur which takes about five hours. Along the way we'll give you more information on the itinerary for the coming days and make sure there are drinks and snacks.

When you arrive at your design resort, we handle the check-in and make sure you get to your room for some well-earned rest!

You will be dining at your resort, with a range of delectable options for both Indian and international cuisine.

Day two

The second day starts with a leisurely breakfast (not too early!) before heading out to the Amber Fort – perhaps Jaipur's most famous landmark. You will have plenty of time to explore the fort and its history before we go down in to Jaipur itself, to uncover the magnificent City Palace, Palace of Winds (Hawa Mahal) and observatory.

A visit to Elephant Village is next; you can watch the elephants bathe after a busy working day at the fort, and if you are feeling adventurous enough, you can join in and scrub one of these gentle as they splash around in the water.

Before sunset we'll take you to the Monkey Temple – which as the name implies is home to a gang of mostly docile monkies, always on the lookout for food.

Alternatively you can go for a wander through the bazaars and small side streets that traverse the old walled "Pink City".

We'll get you back to your resort for dinner and an evening of relaxing under the stars in the private seating area in front of your tent.

Day three

Day three means an early start, leaving the hotel around 8 am and heading for Deogarh where you'll be staying at Deogarh Mahal, a beautiful palace converted in to a luxury hotel – but still presided over by its erstwhile royal residents. Since you'll be arriving around 2 pm we'll leave you to have a late lunch at the hotel, before turning our attention to the afternoon's activities: a choice of jeep safari or horse riding around the extensive hotel grounds and local village, or alternatively a stroll around the local villages to get a closer look at rural life.

If you would rather opt for a relaxing afternoon then stay at the hotel and choose to indulge in the ancient science of Ayurveda with a reviving massage from one of the resident specialist masseurs from Kerala.

You'll finish the day with dinner at in the hotel with a programme of traditional Rajasthani performers and folk dancing in the palaces upper courtyard...once again underneath a canopy of stars that gets even better after “lights out”.

Day four

The awe-inspiring Jain temple complex at Ranakpur is the first stop on day four, so after breakfast and we'll start on the two hour drive. The temples include 1444 intricately carved pillars, with no two pillars being identical. Around Ranakpur we'll also take you off the beaten track to explore the rural farming communities, where the land in the mountain valleys is still worked using traditional methods.

Later in the day, you'll be heading out for a leopard safari. If you're lucky you'll get the opportunity to see these amazing big cats up close, under the expert guidance of Thakur Devi Singh. After a late, home-cooked dinner, prepared by the lady of the house it's time to go back to your hotel for a quick nightcap and a good night's rest.

Day five

After breakfast on day five we bring you to Udaipur. We'll provide you with information and a map of the key sights...such as the City Palace, Saheliyon Ki Bari (gardens of the maidens of honour) and Pratap Memorial so you can wander at your leisure.

Later in the afternoon, you'll be taking the Lake Pichola boat tour including a stop off at Jagmandir Island and the chance to see the renowned “floating palace” (now the Lake Palace hotel) and the sun setting over the Mewar hills.

Your final evening includes a massage followed by drinks and dinner at your luxury palace hotel.

Day six

After a whirlwind tour around Rajasthan, day six means you'll be heading out. Depending on your next destination you'll have breakfast at the hotel and then transfer to the airport for flights to Mumbai or Delhi (and connections to Goa and Cochin and onward international destinations).
