What a season!

Chhatra Sagar Nimaj has been hugely popular with Wire's clients

Although our work is never-ending, now is the time that when we can slow down just a tiny bit. Briefly. As the “tourist season” draws to a close, we've got a whole host of things lined up for the summer (including more tours!) but, essentially we'll also have a little bit of time to take stock and reflect on what has been a fantastic first season for Wire.

We've been extremely privileged with the clients that we have had thus far – those who took a leap of faith and chose the newcomer in the market and instantly “clicked” with our ethos. Also, those who trusted our advice and judgement when it came to itineraries, always very frank, sometimes excluding things but always improving the overall experience. It definitely made all the hard work setting up Wire worth it and the extremely positive feedback gives a lot to be confident about for the year ahead.

Even though it's been tricky at times, we're also pleased that even if we haven't led every tour, we have still managed to meet up with our clients at some stage during their trip. Having the personal contact and being able to engage our guests gives us vital insight in to what today's luxury traveller really values. It's more than just putting names to faces and a chance for us bring something extra to every tour. Where we have led trips, we've been lucky enough to have a great deal of fun and be able to share our passion for Rajasthan Even the occasional hiccup due to rain or fog have been a delight to tackle – all in the name of creating a perfect experience.

Our favorite moment? There are so many, but New Year's Eve in Ranakpur was quite something! Also being thoroughly spoiled by Harsh and his family at Chhatra Sagar was very much appreciated and an absolute joy.

We keep going on about them, but the star of this season has definitely been the leopard. More specifically Zara who has captivated everyone who has seen her – which is every single guest that we have taken on the safari. There were a few who got to see the 10-month old cubs too. And we haven't done too badly on the tiger front either... again all our guests who have been to Ranthambore have seen at least one tiger.

But it doesn't stop here of course, we are already getting ready for next season, which by the way, we want to start earlier than most. September is a great time to travel through Rajasthan; the monsoon is as good as over, the normally dry and rocky landscapes turn luscious green...temperatures are perfect and sightseeing minus the crowds more enjoyable.

We're constantly visiting new properties and will shortly be revealing our 2011 Hotels Hotlist, adding amongst others Rasa Resort and Devi Ratn in Jaipur (sneak preview was simply amazing!) Two brand new, concept stays that will definitely set high expectations for other new boutique properties in Rajasthan... and we'll be there testing them all to bring you only the most exquisite and characterful accommodation available.

Keeping busy is not a hard thing to do when you're involved with Wire. Whether it's the creativity of devising new itineraries, liaising with clients, being out on the road or exploring in the name of research... it's what helps us get the result right and because of that happy clients - that's what it is all about!
