Searching through the internet, we often wonder exactly how we should define boutique travel in India. For us, boutique India should be about stylish design, the very highest levels of personal service - and of course hotels and resorts that are still small enough to maintain a very special atmosphere. Boutique travel in India should not mean cutting corners, or cramming an itnierary with budget hotels just to keep the costs down. That's why we've been searching high and low to find properties that offer excellent value as well as that certain je ne sais quoi tht our clients are co used to and expect!

Is there a difference between boutique India travel and luxury travel around India? Not in our minds! Boutique travel, in any country is surely about choosing properties that appeal to some very personal preferences. Whether that be an eco-friendly approach, interactive experiences, chic rooms that are not over-designed or an intimate atmosphere, these are concepts than can be equally applied to luxury travel. Where luxury travel may be the maintstream, and include some of the larger (chain) hotels, we feel that boutique implies smaller scale, but no less quality. And similarly, we don't believe that by default a smaller property automatically deserves to be described as 'boutique'.

Take Wire for instance - we like to consider ourselves a boutique travel agency - we're big on luxury travel in India, and are passionate about the quality we deliver, but we are indeed small - and perfectly formed! Rajasthan, our speciality is not really known for its boutique properties, Kerala however is. That's why Wire has decided to develop new experiences in Kerala... amongst other places!
